4 July - we are very sad to hear of the death of Life Member, Alain de Cadenet, on Saturday 2nd July in Los Angeles. Having competed at Le Mans as a privateer many times, several of them in his own prototypes, known affectionately as DeCads, he moved to historics. Some of the cars running with us today had been part of Alain's stable... his 8C Alfa Romeo was on the track at Le Mans in the hands of the Rettenmaiers at the weekend. He was an important HGPCA Board Member for several years and was proud to have been instrumental in its formation. A great character as anyone who knew him will confirm and a sad loss to our world. Our condolences to his wife, Alison and son, Aidan, Amanda and Alexander and his friends across the world.
21 June - Marc Valvekens - owner of the ex works Aston Martin DBR4, driven by Roy Salvadori and also with Australian/Tasmanian history - sadly passed away on Friday 17th June. Marc had been a member of the Association for twenty years driving both a Bugatti and Gordini before buying the Aston from Hubert Fabri. He truly will be sadly missed. Our deepest condolences to Jacqueline and their families.
31 May - Unfortunately, the 2022 Espíritu del Jarama has been cancelled. We received notification from the organiser - Jesús Pozo - that the circuit changed the contract conditions which have made the event impossible to organise. We hope that an event - a weekend ahead of Portimao - will be possible in 2023.
15 May - tragic news that Member, Simon Diffey, died in a traffic accident yesterday. Tributes from across the world populate social media. The HGPCA is deeply saddened. Simon and his business, Merry Printers, have produced all of our print, decals, newsletters over the years. He will be hugely missed by the historic motorsport world and we send condolences to Sarah, his family and all of his thousands of friends.

4 August - Tragically, on Saturday the 31st July, there was an accident at Brands Hatch (not an HGPCA event) where marshal, Rob Foote, sadly lost his life. A JustGiving page has been set up to raise funds for the family. If you are able to donate, this is the link: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/forourmarshal?utm_term=dzB6rMYVq Our racing depends on the dedication and support of volunteer marshals and, in this way, we are able to give a little back. Our sympathies go out to his family and friends.
29 July - 1 August - the weekend at Silverstone can be viewed on the Classic's dedicated YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/silverstoneclassicTV either to watch all the action as it happens or to catch up later. There will be two highlights programmes aired on ITV4 at 8pm on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 August with repeats on Sunday 15 August and Sunday 29 August.
26 July - News has just been received that, due to the ongoing rescue operations for the flood victims and the base for the clear up being set up in the paddock at the Nurburgring, the local government have cancelled the Old-Timer Grand Prix. Stirling, together with Susie, was a great supporter of our Association and made a point to attend our Annual Christmas lunches.
